Introducing HACME Corporation: Solving problems you didn't know you had
“Dori-toes snack foot!” design strategist Dan Sarbacker announced proudly holding a half-sheet sharpie sketch.
Building upon Dan’s idea, I threw out, “oooo Dori-toenails.”
Immediately everybody at the table responded, “Ewwwww!”
This is just a little snippet, merely a couple minutes, of the hours of conversations our 2014 Design MMoCA team has had. It’s funny the ideation bunny trails that you follow when your only constraint is to dream up the future. Cost, regulatory, technical feasibility, blah… all out the window! This is the world we’ve been living in for months as the team gathers after work hours and, as of recently, late nights and weekends. From this melting pot, The HACME Corporation was born.
Just imagine a not so distant future where the components of emerging technology today — microprocessors, wearable sensors and 3D printers — have become so cheap and accessible they’re embedded into most everyday objects you wear and use. In comes HACME, inventing the products you didn’t even know you’d ever need.
Hungry? Grab a Snak Stache. Mix and match snack flavors and shapes of your own devise with this 3D printing mustache.
Drowsy? Pop on a Jugular Jolt and power up with a sustained dose of subdermally transferred energy drink refreshment.
