Mathieu Turpault, Delve’s Vice President of Design, and Taylor Cone, Delve’s Head of Innovation Enablement, will speak at the Design Management Institute’s Design Management Conference taking place in Madrid, Spain from March 28-30, 2023. 
<a href="https://www.dmi.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Design Management Institute (DMI)</a> is a non-profit organization that connects innovators, educators, researchers, and leaders from various design disciplines and industries internationally to facilitate transformational organizational change and design driven innovation. 
The conference theme is “The Power of Design in Turbulent Times.” Speakers will explore how the power of design can be used to reexamine values, reevaluate goals, retool business structures, reconfigure work, and redefine success to include the health and well-being of the earth and all its inhabitants. In addition, they will explore how design and innovation management are helping organizations large and small make fundamental changes in the way they deliver value. 
<h3>Designers as Change Agents&nbsp;</h3>
Mathieu’s presentation on March 29, 2023, is&nbsp;titled “Designers as Change Agents,” and will explore the way design thinking fuels innovation. 
“Designers, who are trained to understand the complexities of product development, are naturally connected across the spectrum of disciplines from marketing to manufacturing,” Mathieu says. “As designers, we are uniquely positioned to impact change within our organizations and drive the company-wide adoption of design thinking. But stepping into the role of change agent within an organization often requires skills that were not necessarily taught in design school.” 
Mathieu will share his perspective and experience as it relates to the role of design in driving innovation within organizations. Mathieu will also share his team’s best practices for increasing innovation outputs, including some of their guiding principles for design, such as “Celebrating Radical Creativity, Enabling and Protecting the Freedom to Dream and Becoming Change Agents.” 
<h3>9 Traps that Stifle Innovation—And How to Avoid Them</h3>
How do you answer the question, “Is my company innovative?” On March 28, 2023,&nbsp;Taylor will share 26 metrics that drive innovation at the individual, team, and organizational levels. Attendees will learn 9 innovation failure modes that Delve’s research has found to be statistically significant barriers to innovation, as well as how to identify them at their organization to uncover areas of opportunity. “Our research has shown us how to create the conditions for innovation to thrive," Taylor says. “We now have tools you can use to assess your organization’s innovation maturity, identify and address identified areas of weakness, and design a plan for maximizing your organization’s ‘innovation potential.’”
